“This weekend I finished 2nd in the Optimist Southern Area Championships in Hayling Island. It was a difficult event. I was very happy to win a very tricky first race. In the second race I made a good comeback after a bad start and finished 5th. On the second day the conditions were extremely difficult and in the end there wasn’t enough wind to race. As a result the first days races counted and I stayed in 2nd. I was pleased as I beat some older sailors who qualified for the World Championships. We celebrated with an ice cream on the beach! I am also very happy because my new DHF stickers have now arrived and I cannot wait to put them on before the French Nationals in 2 weeks time.”
Well done Finn. Good luck in France and we are all looking forward to hearing how you get on.
