Carwyn Davies – Update July 2022

By August 3, 2022 No Comments

I have returned to my home club Kingston RC for my last year as a junior. I have had some great times training and racing with my crew over this year.

We have had very dominant victories at local races, winning with large margins and competing right at the top of the country. We came 4th at Nationals with half a second separating us from 2nd place. We have placed a very close 2nd and 3rd at most large events racing in one of the most competitive categories for our age group. We raced for the first time at the famous Henley Royal Regatta but unfortunately got knocked out in the semi finals by the eventual winners.

All four members of my crew have been invited to multiple GB trials throughout the year and have been producing solid results. Two of my crew mates are representing team GB at Junior Worlds and Junior European Championships.

I hope to continue my rowing journey at Oxford Brookes University where I have my eyes set on, hopefully, a Henley Royal Regatta win,  but also to represent Team GB at under 23 world championships.
