As we all look towards returning to some form of normality post COVID-19, sailor Finn Morris lets us know his plans for the rest of year ahead:
My last update was written as winter started – but like most people I have had to spend the winter not sailing. Lockdown was hard as we were not allowed to train and I had just started sailing with a new partner, Robin, before Christmas – but as soon as we could we began training in the Easter holidays. We trained for 6 days in some extreme conditions, and then competed in a 10-race series in Weymouth on the final weekend of the holidays. We did well and finished 9th in our first event together as well as learning a lot.
Last weekend I competed in the Hayling Island Sailing Club Spring Regatta with my friend Oscar. We were very happy to win the 29er fleet.
This summer I am hoping to do lots of events including the Youth Nationals in Plymouth and the 29er Nationals in Largs. I have a lot of training days coming up before our next big event is on the 5th and 6th of June at Grafham Water.
I would like to say thank you to the DHF for their continued support.
