For many of our young athletes there is no such thing as a ‘Summer Break’ as they have to attend out of season training camps and team selection events. Mai is one such rising star who – as well as preparing to start Sixth Form, spent the summer completing her 1st GB Under 18s camp in Nottingham and was then invited to do it all over again in Sheffield earlier this month.
In addition to her international work, she also starts the new season with 3 teams in 3 different leagues:
U18S Mixed – Guildford Fire Kings
WNIHL 1 – Fire Bees (Slough)
WNIHL ELITE – Guildford Lightning
Training every day, matches every weekend and schoolwork to fit in somewhere! Whichever way you look at it, this is an incredible level of commitment and one which we at the Dylan Howells Foundation are incredibly proud to play a very small part in supporting.
