Nathan Kosbab, our DHF-supported rugby player, has given us an update on his recent activities:
I’ve now finished my GCSE’s so I have time to focus on rugby and put my all into it for the transition to u19’s rugby in September.
Matches at Elmbridge Eagles are going well and we are currently 3rd in the league and should progress to the play offs in the next few weeks. I’m being kept busy by lots of training sessions with the Scotland U16s squad. We have a few warm up games planned in preparation for an international match vs Ireland in Dublin in August.
In September I will progress to the Scotland U19s Squad which means a much bigger commitment. You may even see me playing in the Rugby League U19s European Championships in 2020 and the U19s Rugby League World Cup in 2021!
The time to decide about whether I am moving to Newcastle is getting closer and my parents and I are going up to Newcastle for a long weekend at the beginning of July. I will train with the Academy squad and then meet with the coaches, tutors and possible host families to put everything in place for that final decision! I will let you know what we decide in due course!
I would like to thank the Dylan Howells Foundation so much for their continued support – without them I really wouldn’t be in the position I am now with so many exciting opportunities ahead of me to progress my career in Rugby League.
Keep up the amazing effort, Nathan!
