We have an update on our figure skater Lilian Musgrave’s recent activities:
This year Lilian has been accepted into the GB development squad, which means she is now able to enter International ISU skating competitions at Advanced Novice Level when selected by British Ice Skating.
So, in February, Lilian was chosen by British Ice Skating to represent GB in Romania at an International ISU competion. Against 22 other International skaters she came 3rd overall. This experience will help her develop and show her the level of International skating and how competitive it is. She then went into a British qualifier competition last month, which on a successful performance leads to the ability to enter the National British Figure Skating competition in December. She came 3rd in the qualifier, which will be enough to qualify her.
The family are going to try to fund her to attend to two European skate camps, one in France (June) and one in Italy (August) where she will have leading coaches help in her development. Her next competition is in May, in Lee Valley, when she will move up to Junior level for experience rather than our expecting a good result.
As always, we couldn’t plan all of Lilian’s activities without the help of the charity.
