We are excited to have current Paralympic Triathlon Champion Lauren Steadman attend our 2024 Gala Dinner as our Guest Speaker. Ahead of the evening on Sat 23rd March, please find out more about Lauren’s journey:

Lauren Steadman is the current Paralympic Triathlon Champion in the Women’s Individual PTS5 race, three-time World Champion and seven-time European Champion. Lauren was born missing her lower right arm but this has only spurred her on to be the best version of herself, and she relishes the challenge of overcoming barriers. Lauren’s passion for swimming started when she was just four years old, and 11 years later when Lauren turned 15, she represented Team GB as a Paralympic swimmer in Beijing. Lauren also competed in London 2012 as a swimmer, but has since specialised in paratriathlon and represented Team GB in the inaugural entry to the Paralympic Games in Rio 2016, where she achieved the silver medal.

Five years later Lauren returned to the Games stronger than ever at Tokyo 2020 and made history as she crossed the finish line winning the Paralympic Champion title for Team GB. It was the culmination of a 16 year dream and the final medal to complete her arsenal of titles. Lauren’s dedication and drive in all aspects of her life has also seen her attain a Psychology degree and a Masters in Business from Portsmouth University. Outside of studying and competing at the highest level, Lauren loves to bake, salsa dance and notably reached the semi final of the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing in 2018. Lauren also was crowned joint winner on Channel 4’s SAS: Who Dares Wins in 2020 after facing a gruelling course in the challenging terrain of Scotland’s rugged West Coast.

2023 saw Lauren start her PhD studying preventative mental well-being practices for Olympians and Paralympians. More challenges follow as she aims to defend her title as Paralympic Triathlon Champion in Paris 2024 as well as striving to qualify for her first Winter Paralympics, Milan 2026 as a Cross Country Skier.
