Mai has just got back from Bratislava, Slovakia playing for the England U15’s ice hockey team.
She had an amazing time both on and off the ice. They played against the Czech ice hockey Selects team (who are one of the top league teams) – unfortunately they lost the first 3 games 2-1, 4-0 then 5-1, but they learned a lot, both on and off the ice. England then won the 4th game, first drawing 5-5 then winning 7-6 on penalties – it was a great game.
The last game was a mixed game where Mai and a few of her team mates were swapped with Czech players. Mai’s team then won 3-2. Again a great game.
The team trip was a fantastic experience with lots of life long memories were made. Hopefully there will be more trips on the horizon.
Out of season training has now started in preparation for the new season start in Aug/Sept.
