On 15th June, 25 Elmbridge Phoenix Swimming Club swimmers & parents took part in the Dylan Howells Foundation Aquathlon, followed by a BBQ and social event on a gorgeous evening at Hampton Open Air Pool.
This event has been run annually since 2017 by Thames Turbo for club members and alumni. For 2023 Thames Turbo were happy to extend the invitation to EPSC, with Dylan, Julia, Cerys & Tom having had a long & happy association with both clubs.
The focus of this event was to raise funds for the DHF Foundation, whilst having fun exercising with friends and teammates. Thames Turbo have announced that over £700 was raised.
There were some strong performances on display from EPSC swimmers and parents with Genevieve White, Darcey Arnold & Oscar Dyer all winning their age groups in the junior events. In the senior event, Will Weller posted the fastest swim split of any athlete and Helen Agnew finished 2nd in the ladies competition!
Harrison Kwei put down an astonishing 5km run split of 17.40, coupled with a super swim that propelled him to 5th place overall and by far the quickest EPSC participant!
Thanks to Thames Turbo for hosting such a fantastic event and extending the invitation to EPSC. It’s clear the multi-sport fire has been lit with our exceptional swimmers and we would love to return in 2024!
