Nathan Kosbab – new update March 2020

By March 11, 2020 No Comments

Nathan Kosbab, our DHF-supported rugby player, has just given us an exciting update on his recent activities:

Following the 2-week trial at London Broncos before Christmas that I mentioned at the gala dinner, my trial was extended for another month. At the end of that month I signed my first contract with London Broncos and am now officially in the U18s squad!

This is a very big achievement for me and meant so much as all the hard work I had put in over the past years and especially in the few months of trial had paid off. On the 1st March we had our first game against Saint Helens. Anyone who knows rugby league knows that Saints Helens are notoriously a very tough competitor; however we managed to get a 44-34 win over them.

As for Scotland, I have already had my first few training sessions of the year with the U19s squad.  This is a real step up and has been a challenge, but with the view of the U19s European Championship competition in September, I am hoping that my hard work will pay off and get me selected for the squad to travel to Italy.

And for all of this I have the Dylan Howells Foundation to thank.

Without their funding and continued support I wouldn’t have been able to make the journey to Scotland so regularly.  I have no doubt that the professional coaching I have received through being part of the Scotland U16s squad has improved my skills to a point where I have now signed the contract with London Broncos.

I’m looking forward to a very full rugby league season playing for both teams!

Amazing news, Nathan – keep up the hard work! From all at DHF and its supporters.
