Aaleyah Jay – Life in Lockdown

By June 25, 2020 No Comments

As part of a series of reports from our sponsored young people during the COVID-19 lockdown period, power tumbler Aaleyah Jay lets us know how the pandemic has altered her plans for the year and how she has adjusted to the restrictions:

Hi just a little update, I may not be in the gym but I am working hard to keep fit. I am doing some video chats and group Zoom sessions with my squad to make sure I am prepared to get back to tumbling as soon as I can! In my sessions I warm up, do conditioning (Strength speed, stamina and flexibility), I am also walking lots of miles and going on regular bike rides.

I have missed training and it makes me sad that the competitions have been cancelled as I was feeling ready to start competing my new level and achieving my goal of qualifying for nationals this year (Nationals and English Championships 2020 have been cancelled) and all comps for the foreseeable future, but I am making sure I am physically strong for when I can return.
